哈嘍同學(xué)們好呀，又是廣州申友GMAT Sofia的SC小課堂時(shí)間~上篇文章中廣州申友GMAT Sofia老師帶大家了解了GMAT句子改錯(cuò)中的時(shí)態(tài)考點(diǎn)的基本語(yǔ)法規(guī)則：一，并列的兩個(gè)句子或主從句一般時(shí)態(tài)保持一致，二，時(shí)間狀語(yǔ)從句和條件狀語(yǔ)從句中要用一般時(shí)態(tài)表將來(lái)。這篇文章老師帶同學(xué)們從語(yǔ)義的角度補(bǔ)充下時(shí)態(tài)考點(diǎn)需要注意的問(wèn)題。

我們結(jié)合一道例題來(lái)講解一下。

Combining enormous physical strength with higher intelligence, the Neanderthals appear as equipped for facing any obstacle the environment could put in their path, but their relatively sudden disappearance during the Paleolithic era indicates that an inability to adapt to some environmental change led to their extinction.

A appear as equipped for facing any obstacle the environment could put in their path,

B appear to have been equipped to face any obstacle the environment could put in their path,

C appear as equipped to face any obstacle the environment could put in their paths,

D appeared as equipped to face any obstacle the environment could put in their paths,

E appeared to have been equipped for facing any obstacle the environment could put in their path,

解析：這里從but并列的另一個(gè)句中標(biāo)紅的indicates，我們可以排除DE選項(xiàng)，appear as，這里as介詞要接名詞，所以排除AC選項(xiàng)，最后選擇D選項(xiàng)，根據(jù)老師之間給同學(xué)們講的關(guān)于時(shí)態(tài)的語(yǔ)法規(guī)則很容易可以做出來(lái)。但這里老師要提醒同學(xué)們的是非劃線的部分的led to,我們上面提到主從句時(shí)態(tài)一般保持一致，那么這里為什么不一致呢？其實(shí)這就是老師要給同學(xué)們補(bǔ)充的時(shí)態(tài)考點(diǎn)的語(yǔ)義考法，extinction滅絕是過(guò)去事實(shí)，所以這里從語(yǔ)義上來(lái)講要用過(guò)去時(shí)態(tài)。

好~結(jié)合上面的方法，我們練習(xí)一道題目：

Ozone, a special form of oxygen that screens out harmful ultraviolet rays, reaches high concentrations twelve miles above Earth, where it has long appeared that it was immune from human influence; we have now realized, though, that emissions of industrial chlorofluorocarbons deplete the ozone layer.

A has long appeared that it was immune from

B has long appeared to have been immune from

C has long appeared as being immune to

D had long appeared immune to

E had long appeared that it was immune to

解析：看到這道題，有的同學(xué)會(huì)直接排除掉DE選項(xiàng)，因?yàn)橹鲝木鋾r(shí)態(tài)一般保持一致對(duì)吧，但是這里涉及到語(yǔ)義的問(wèn)題哦，我們看下這題的語(yǔ)義，分號(hào)前面那句話(huà)講的是，臭氧在距地球12英里的高空達(dá)到高濃度，長(zhǎng)期以來(lái)似乎不受人類(lèi)影響，而后面的句子說(shuō)的是，現(xiàn)在，我們意識(shí)到工業(yè)氯氟烴的排放會(huì)消耗臭氧層，也就是說(shuō)，現(xiàn)在臭氧受人類(lèi)的影響了對(duì)吧，所以前后語(yǔ)義是相反的，那么肯定不會(huì)是同一個(gè)時(shí)態(tài)了對(duì)不對(duì)，這樣的話(huà)，前面的句子就要用過(guò)去時(shí)態(tài)才合理，所以我們要在DE中選擇，從簡(jiǎn)潔性考慮，D選項(xiàng)正確。
